Detective Conan and the escape room genre are a match made in heaven — fans of the long-running anime will, of course, enjoy the idea of getting to unravel a mystery with their favorite pint-sized detective. And Universal Studios Japan is giving fans a chance to do just that… with an added bonus.
Two different interactive experience will be going up this winter as part of the park’s Detective Conan World. The first, Detective Conan – The Escape, is just what it sounds like: an escape room. No news is yet available on the plot, but you will be able to interact with characters from the series as you find your way out. The escape room opens to fans in January, and will run into the summer.
But if you’re looking for something a little different, the Detective Conan Mystery Restaurant brings its own twist to mystery dinner theater. Running this winter and spring, the attraction will serve attendees in a venue similar to the settings of the series, while playing out a scenario that allows them to solve a mystery during their meal.
Detective Conan – The Escape runs from January 19 – June 24, 2018 at Universal Studios Japan’s Stage 18. Tickets go on sale tomorrow for 2,980 yen.
Detective Conan Mystery Restaurant runs from February 1 – March 20, 2018. Tickets go on sale next month, priced at 4,980 yen for adults and 2,550 yen for children.
