“Code Geass: Akito the Exiled” 4th Chapter Tops Japan’s Blu-ray Sales Chart

According to the latest Oricon report, the fourth chapter of Code Geass: Akito the Exiled, “Nikushimi no Kioku Kara” (From the Memories of Hatred) released in Japan on October 28, takes the top spot in its weekly overall Blu-ray sales chart selling about 19,000 units in its first week. Meanwhile, the DVD of the chapter released simultaneously ranked a not-so-impressive 14th selling only 2,000 units. It shows that the majority of the fans have finished the transition from DVD to Blu-ray already.

This the third No.1 Blu-ray disc in the whole Code Geass anime franchise. The first title was the first volume of the second TV series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2, released in September 2009, and the second was the third chapter of Code Geass: Akito the Exiled, “Kagayaku Mono Ten Yori Otsu” (The Shining One Falls from Heaven) released in June of this year.

The fifth chapter titled “Itoshiki Monotachi e” (To Beloved) is in the works as the final installment of the

series, and is scheduled to premiere on February 6, 2016.
