Children’s Book Explores the Fantastical Vehicles of Studio Ghibli Films

Tokuma Shoten has published a 64 page, color children’s picture book entitled Studio Ghibli no Norimono ga Ippai (“Studio Ghibli Has So Many Vehicles”), the 1st in a series of children’s books that will introduce young Japanese readers to the fantastical worlds of the films of Studio Ghibli.

 

 

The 1st book focuses on the many wonderful vehicles to be found in Studio Ghibli films, from Nausicaa’s glider to the airplanes of Porco Rosso to the titular lumbering keep of Howl’s Moving Castle. Studio Ghibli no Norimono ga Ippai was published on June 21, 2016, and it retails for 1512 yen ($14.48 US).

 

The 2nd book in the series, Studio Ghibli no Ikimono ga Ippai, will focus on the creatures of Studio Ghibli’s films, while the 3rd book in the series, Studio Ghibli no Tabemono ga Ippai, will focus on the food of Studio Ghibli’s films. The 2nd book will be published in August of 2016, while the 3rd book will be published in February of 2017.
