The official website for the upcoming live-action drama adaptation of Matsukoma (story) and Hashimoto (art)’s comedy manga series Nietzsche-sensei ~Conveni ni, Satori Sedai no Shinjin ga Maiorita~/Mr. Nietzsche in the Convenience Store today updated with a main visual featuring 22-year-old Shotaro Mamiya as Tomoharu Nii and 34-year-old Kenji Urai as Matsukoma.
The manga has been serialized in Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic GENE since its September 2013 issue. Currently four tankobon volumes are available in Japan, and its total print run has reportedly reached one million copies. The story is set in a fictional convenience store the Three Seven Jiin Douri store, and tells the life of its clerks.
The drama adaptation is written/directed by 47-year-old Yuichi Fukuda, known for his latest works such as HK/Hentai Kamen (2013), I’ll Give It My All… Tomorrow (2013) and Joshi Zu (2014). It will be streamed
on Hulu in January 2016, and will also be aired on Yomiuri TV simultaneously (Kansai area only).
