Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” flung his shield back into theaters this weekend, and audiences stood at attention as Cap earned the top spot in the domestic box office with $95 million, setting the record for the biggest opening weekend in April ever and making the film the number one movie in the world!
“On behalf of the entire cast and crew of ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier,’ I’d like to thank our incredible fans for not only making us the number one movie in the world this weekend, but helping us yet again break box office records,” said producer Kevin Feige.
The First Avenger also continued to take the world by storm, earning $209.1 million internationally to date for a worldwide total of $304.1 million so far! In only 10 days of release, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” has already surpassed the total international box office of 2011’s “Captain America: The First Avenger.”
