“Brave Witches” Bumps Back Japanese Home Video Release

In order to improve the visual and animation quality of the TV broadcast version of the series, the Japanese home video release of Brave Witches has been delayed by two months.

 

 

The 1st volume of the series was originally scheduled to be released on Bluray and DVD in Japan on December 21, 2016, but now has been rescheduled to be released on February 24, 2017. Each subsequent volume has also been bumped back, such that the new release dates are as follows:

 

  • Volume 02: March 24, 2017.
  • Volume 03: April 28, 2017.
  • Volume 04: Mary 26, 2017.
  • Volume 05: June 30, 2017.
  • Volume 06: July 28, 2017.
  • Special Edition: August 25, 2017.

 

 

Brave Witches is directed by Kazuhiro Takamura and features animation by Silver Link. The series is currently on-going in Japan, and is also being simulcast on Crunchyroll, who describe the story of Brave Witches as follows:

 

In September of 1944, thanks to the actions of the Allied Forces, with the 501st Joint Fighter Wing “Strike Witches” at their center, the Neuroi nest in the skies above the Republic of Gallia was eliminated, ensuring the security of western Europe. The Allied Forces took advantage of this victory to plan to take their resistance to central and eastern Europe in earnest. At their base in Petersburg in the Empire of Orussia, the 502nd Joint Fighter Wing “Brave Witches” prepared to receive orders to deploy…
