“Blade of the Immortal” Live-Action Film 1st Teaser Posted on Official Website

The official website for the upcoming live-action film adaptation of Hiroaki Samura’s Mugen no Junin/Blade of the Immortal action jidaigeki manga today posted a 30-second first teaser introducing its main cast in costume, including 43-year-old Takuya Kimura as its one-eyed protagonist Manji and his sword fight against 300 enemy samurais.

Kimura is a member of Japanese idol group SMAP. Since his managing company Johnny & Associates basically does not allow any internet media to use photos or images of their idols, a 20-second web teaser below does not show Kimura as Manji, just his name. You can watch the complete version teaser including Manji, which is unembeddable, only on the film’s official website for now.

The film is set for a release in Japan on April 29, 2017.
