Funatic of the Week: Clint Crockett!

Clint Crockett

Denver, CO

What Funko lines do you collect? How many pieces are in your collection?

As of this submission, I mostly collect Pop!s (176 pieces) and Dorbz (27), but have some others sprinkled in (with my collecting growing all the time) .

How long have you been a collector?

Since Movember 2015 (nearly 2 years… and that’s not a typo).

What are your favorite fandoms?

Bob’s Burgers, South Park, Rick and Morty, Futurama (so Animation) along with Marvel (X-men).

What was your first Funko item?

Peyton Manning (AKA Lil’ Sheriff)… Turned out to be a good luck charm since the Broncos won the Superbowl the year I purchased him…

What is your favorite Funko piece in your collection?

Tough call, but gotta go with Cookie Monster, who hangs out in my pantry to keep the cookies safe.

Tell us your favorite Funko story!

I have a few, including when I gave my brother his first Pop! for Christmas and his reaction (he’s a big Patriots/Gronk fan), showing off and bonding with my nephews (only to find out they have one that’s appraised over x3 times the value of anything I have), and taking the “Lil’ Sheriff” with me to watch Bronco games (including a house party for Super Bowl 50), but my favorite story has to be in regards to my two month old daughter, Ava. I had to get her into collecting with me early, so I bought her a Wonder Woman Dorbz (since that was the most popular movie when she was born) and it “watches over” her and her room! čśÇ

Funatic of the Week: Bradley Costa!

Bradley Costa

East Providence, RI

What Funko lines do you collect? How many pieces are in your collection?

Right now I have about 60 Pop!s in my collection. I mostly collect Pop!s but have my first Freddy Funko Dorbz coming next week! I also have a bunch of t-shirts and other items from my Smugglers Bounty subscription.

How long have you been a collector?

A little over 2 years.

What are your favorite fandoms?

Mostly Star Wars. I love collecting Pop!s that remind me of something from my childhood, like Ace Ventura, Ghostbusters and Indiana Jones. Really anything that looks cool and I am interested in will end up in my collection.

What was your first Funko item?

C-3PO Pop!

What is your favorite Funko piece in your collection?

Right now it would have to be the Grand Admiral Thrawn Pop! He is by far my favorite character on Star Wars Rebels and Funko did an awesome job of bringing his character into Pop! form.

Tell us your favorite Funko story!

It all started when I went to a local toy store that has a huge wall of Pop!s. I saw C-3PO and thought, how cool! The rest is history!

More recently, a couple months ago our local Barnes and Noble had a Pop! Swap event, where collectors could bring their Pop!s in to trade and talk to other local collectors. It was a really great experience and just showed me how awesome this community is and made me really glad that I started collecting. During this event I was able to get a few Pop!s on my wish list including the Star Wars Blue Snaggletooth. I had wanted him for a while but I was not subscribed to the Smugglers Bounty box when he was released.

I am really grateful for the people I have met and the feeling you get when you are able to bring home that Pop! you first saw as concept art months back and now have the final product in your hand. Thank you Funko!

Funatic of the Week: Josh Bauer!

Josh Baeur

Des Moines, IA

What Funko lines do you collect? How many pieces are in your collection?

I collect Pop!s, Mystery Minis, Dorbz, and occasionally a Pocket Pop! I currently have 326 pieces in my collection including 15 Dorbz, 51 Mystery Minis, 253 Pop!s and 7 Keychains.

How long have you been a collector?

For about 2 1/2 years.

What are your favorite fandoms?

Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, and D.C.

What was your first Funko item?

The original Woody Pop! from Toy Story

What is your favorite Funko piece in your collection?

My Flocked Cowardly Lion and my Tin Man Pop!s.

Tell us your favorite Funko story!

I was at a local arcade with my brother and we were walking around trying to find something to do. I looked inside the claw machine to see if there was anything in it that was worth trying to get. Some cheap necklaces, a watch, and that’s when I saw a Woody Pop! (Toy Story was my favorite movie at the time) and just had to get it. Now at this point I had no idea what a Pop! was, so I had no clue I could buy it for $10 on pretty much any website at the time. I ended up spending about $25 to get my first Pop! from a claw machine. When I finally won it and pulled it out, I looked on the back and saw all the other figures in the line… I wanted those too… now I have 253 Pop!s.
