When I had learned that Ballora from Sister Location was going to have a chase variant, I was super excited to find her and was on the hunt. One day I went to GameStop to see if they had gotten their shipment in and they had. They were just opening the boxes with Ballora, and surprisingly, there was her chase variant! Just to say I was happy is an understatement- I even jumped up and down. Definitely hands down my favorite Funko find ever!

Tell us your favorite Funko story!

My wife is a Walking Dead fan and I bought her a Daryl Pop! Ride for Christmas. But then I started on eBay and was hooked. I also purchased the Disney Treasure box collection. I get so much teasing because I’m 55 yers old and they say I’m collecting dolls. I tell them they’re action figures! At one point I was receiving 2-6 shipments a day. My postman now waves every day I see him. I might need to buy him one.

What are your favorite fandoms?

Five Nights at Freddy’s, The Walking Dead, and WWE.

What was your first Funko item?

Homer Simpson Wacky Wobbler

What is your favorite Funko piece in your collection?

Ozzy Osbourne Funko Pop!

Tell us your favorite Funko story!

Way before I started collecting Funko Pop!s I was into collecting The Simpsons Wacky Wobbler figures (which I still have, they’re just currently in storage). I didn’t really pay much attention to Pop! figures before I got into collecting. My first Pop!s I bought were Rick Grimes and Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead, just because they were Walking Dead figures, and it pretty much took off from there. I now have over 400 Pop!s and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

What Funko lines do you collect? How many pieces are in your collection?

Harry Potter. I have all of the ones currently available so 52 (including the creatures 3 pack) and all 3 rides. I have other random ones- a few Doctor Who, Newt Scamander, Holly Golightly, but Harry Potter is the only one I actually collect..

How long have you been a collector?

2 years.

What are your favorite fandoms?

Harry Potter

What was your first Funko item?

Hagrid Pop!

What is your favorite Funko piece in your collection?

All the Luna Lovegoods (she is so cute)!

Tell us your favorite Funko story!

I started dating my now husband who had some Pop!s (prior to dating him I didn’t know much about them) and somehow it came up one day that there were some Harry Potter Pop!s. My first thought was, “Oh man! I am sure they have been out for a long time, there is no way I will find them so no point in trying. But man how cool would it be to have them all.” Then after one particularly rough day at work he came over to my apartment and surprised me with Hagrid! I was totally in love with it and then started looking into for myself and found out that not only were there only 7 released (at the time) but that they had not been released for long. And so the journey to being a crazy Harry Potter Pop! collector began. We have driven to Washington for one, been to multiple malls in one day, and I have even left work to go pick one up (Harry on broom- thank god B&N was close by). I love it and every time I walk into our office and see them on their shelves (plural….) I smile.

A few years ago on Christmas, my stepdaughter who didn’t live with us at the time didn’t have hardly any money saved. She wanted to buy me something for Christmas, because of how thankful she was for all I did for her. I told her I did not want her to spend her money on me, to save it and buy herself something. Well Christmas Day comes around and she has me a small box, wrapped nicely. When I opened it up I almost cried. She knew how much I loved The Walking Dead and she had gone to a thrift shop and found that Darryl Dixon with the crossbow. Though it was not much, that was the best gift I received that year!! She is the most thoughtful child in the world and that gift still means the world to me!! I love my Katy!!

What is your favorite Funko piece in your collection?

Groot and my signed Belle figure.

Tell us your favorite Funko story!

I started collecting after I saw the figures in an EB Games store and told my boyfriend how I thought they were cute, and he suggested I buy some. After that, I bought so many of them! We recently went to FanExpo in Toronto and I got a few new ones, which were Groot, Daenerys Targaryen & Drogon. While at FanExpo, the voice actors for Beauty & the Beast were there and I just had to get Paige O’Hara (the voice of Belle) to sign my figure! She was very nice & I told her that she was my favourite Disney princess. I was so excited to meet her. I also found Groot, who I had been searching for forever! I bought it immediately.

Funatic of the Week: Andrew Newland!

What Funko lines do you collect? How many pieces are in your collection?

Currently I am collecting as much DC Heroes stuff as possible, but my Pop! collection has items from a lot of the different Funko lines. Batman just happens to be my favorite character so a good 20% of my collection is just Batman figures! As of the last count, I was at 380 in hand with anywhere from 8-15 on order from various places.

How long have you been a collector?

Since Christmas 2014

What are your favorite fandoms?

Batman (any DC I guess, but really specifically Batman), followed closely by anything that just reminds me of how AMAZING my childhood was.

What was your first Funko item?

The Invisible Bilbo Baggins Pop!

What is your favorite Funko piece in your collection?

Toss up between the Zur En Arrh Batman Pop! and the whole set from the Batman Animated Series.

Tell us your favorite Funko story!

My collection was started by my wife. She gifted me the Invisible Bilbo Pop! for Christmas in 2014. I thought it was cool, but didn’t really realize what it was or what all was being made by Funko at the time. Two weeks later my son stumbled upon a Spider-Man Pop! from the new movie on sale at Target and insisted I get it since I am a web developer. About 8 months later, my family and I moved to Denver for a job opportunity, at the time I had collect about 12 Pop!s and was pretty proud of my collection. Within a year we had to make the move back to Texas for my job and I had to pack up 6 crates, carefully packaged, to move back. Now I have almost 400 and I may need a new house soon…….

Doug “Mr. L” Lardes

What Funko lines do you collect? How many pieces are in your collection?

While I have many Harry Potter and Batman pieces, my favorite collection is my Marvel set. I have about 75 Marvel, 10 Harry Potter, 10 Batmans, and a few fun others Pop!s like King Kong, the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man, and a Piper Chapman for my daughter, Piper.

How long have you been a collector?

5 years

What are your favorite fandoms?

I think I’m a pretty biased Marvel fan… but Batman still rules!

What was your first Funko item?

#9 The Thing Pop!

What is your favorite Funko piece in your collection?

As a homage to who started it all, I have my Stan Lee Comikaze Pop! in my basement gym which is where I keep my favorite superhero and sports collectibles.

Tell us your favorite Funko story!

I actually became a collector because of a student I taught! At the end of my fifth year of teaching 4th grade in 2012, a student and her mom (and avid superhero fan herself) brought me an end-of-the-year gift in a big box. I opened it up to find my first 6 Marvel Pop! Vinyls: The Thing, Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Spider-Man, and Wolverine. I had never seen them before and became instantly hooked. I lost a lot of my childhood toys in a flood when I was younger so I am making up for it with my collection! I keep most of them in my classroom since I’m in my room more time during the day than I’m at my own house-meaning it should include things I enjoy! My students love having them in our classroom and I think they’ve helped spawn not only a lot of questions about superheroes, but even more, an interest (from both boys and girls) in heroes and comics they hadn’t had before.
