NEW YORK, NY – (November 20, 2017) – NBC 4 New York / WNBC and Telemundo 47 / WNJU announced the creation of a new San Juan news bureau which will deliver additional coverage of Puerto Rico’s ongoing rebuilding and recovery efforts following Hurricane Maria. The new bureau launches today and will operate through February, 2018. Led by bilingual reporter Julio “Gaby” Acevedo, the station’s new news bureau will deliver daily English and Spanish-language news and updates for WNBC and WNJU as well as all NBC and Telemundo-owned stations across the country. Acevedo’s reports will be available on-air and across the stations’ mobile and digital platforms.

“Puerto Rico’s continued recovery is very important to WNBC viewers and their families. For this reason, our station is establishing a new San Juan news bureau to deliver live, comprehensive daily news coverage for our viewers directly from Puerto Rico,” said Eric Lerner, NBC 4 New York President and General Manager. “We are the only Tri-State station to take this important step and look forward to keeping our viewers informed.”

Hurricane Maria struck Puerto Rico as a strong Category 4 storm on the morning of Wednesday, September 20. The devastating impact of the storm has resulted in long-term challenges for the island’s 3.5 million residents, many of whom have close personal connections to the Tri-State as well as all throughout the U.S. mainland. More than 1.4 million Americans of Puerto Rican descent live in the Tri-State area, the largest geographic concentration of Puerto Rican ancestry anywhere within the contiguous United States.

“Telemundo was born in Puerto Rico more than 60 years ago and our Telemundo 47 viewers hold a deep and personal connection to the island. They continue to clamor for more local news and information. A local broadcast veteran, Julio “Gaby” Acevedo has spent more than a decade working in local radio and television in Puerto Rico. He will report from WNBC and WNJU’s new San Juan news bureau and file daily updates for NBC 4 New York and Telemundo 47 and augment the stations’ continued Puerto Rico news coverage that includes televised and on-the-ground reports from WNBC’s Darlene Rodriguez, Michael Gargiulo, Ray Villeda and Erica Byfield, as well as from Telemundo 47’s Alberto Rullan and Cristina Navarrete. Titans-Steelers Broadcast Featured SkyCam as Primary-Viewing Angle for First Time Ever

STAMFORD, Conn. – November 17, 2017 – Last night’s Pittsburgh Steelers’ 40-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Thursday Night Football averaged a Total Audience Delivery (TAD) of 13.8 million viewers across all platforms – NBC, NFL Network, Amazon Prime Video, NBC Sports Digital, NFL Digital, and Universo, according to Fast National data released today by The Nielsen Company, and digital data from Adobe Analytics and Amazon Prime.

The Steelers-Titans telecast was the first to utilize the SkyCam system to provide a live primary-viewing angle.

Total Audience Delivery measures broader consumption by calculating average minute viewing across broadcast, cable, and digital.

Thursday Night Football viewership on NBC and NFL Network peaked at 15.2 million from 9:45-10 p.m. ET. Last night’s game (8:28-11:30 p.m. ET) registered a national household TV rating of 8.2/15.

The Total Audience Delivery of 13.8 million for Titans-Steelers on Thursday Night Football topped last year’s Week 11 TNF game (13.6 million viewers for Saints-Panthers) and increased 3% from last week’s season debut of TNF on NBC/NFL Network (13.4 million viewers for Seahawks-Cardinals).

The Average Minute Audience (AMA) for last night’s live stream via Amazon Prime Video, NBCSports.com, the NBC Sports app, NFL Mobile from Verizon, Watch NFL Network, the NFL app on Microsoft, and NFL Game Pass (International) was 409,000 viewers.

Amazon Prime Video reached a total of 1.7 million combined viewers worldwide for the NFL Thursday Night Kickoff pregame show and the Tennessee-Pittsburgh game. For the Thursday Night Football game alone, 1.4 million worldwide viewers initiated a stream on Amazon Prime Video, with each viewer watching an average of 42 minutes. The average worldwide audience watching Thursday Night Football for at least 30 seconds on Amazon Prime Video was 303,000.

NBC SETS MIDSEASON PREMIERE DATES FOR NEW DRAMAS ‘GOOD GIRLS’ AND ‘RISE’

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – Nov. 16, 2017 – With its fall lineup on track to dominate the fourth quarter for a sixth consecutive year in the 18-49 demo, NBC is set to launch two of its highly anticipated midseason dramas, “Good Girls” and “Rise,” with their debuts scheduled behind a pair of formidable lead-ins.

“Good Girls,” from creator Jenna Bans, will debut Monday, Feb. 26 at 10 p.m., immediately following the spring cycle premiere of “The Voice,” featuring new coach Kelly Clarkson alongside Alicia Keys, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

“Rise,” from creator Jason Katims (“Friday Night Lights,” “Parenthood”) and “Hamilton” producer Jeffrey Seller, will launch Tuesday, March 13 at 10 p.m. with a preview episode immediately following the season finale of “This Is Us,” NBC’s #1 entertainment series and the #1 drama on broadcast television. “Rise” will move to its regular 9 p.m. timeslot the following Tuesday, March 20.

“The Brave,” which is in the midst of its 13-episode season, has been a steady performer for the network. This past Monday’s episode equaled the show’s high in 18-49 since Oct. 9 and, despite airing opposite “The Good Doctor,” the season average for “The Brave” has outrated CBS’ “Scorpion” on eight of eight Mondays so far in 18-49. It also ranks ahead of several rival 10 p.m. dramas, including “NCIS: New Orleans,” “Blue Bloods,” “S.W.A.T.,” “Kevin (Probably) Saves the World” and “Madam Secretary.”

In L+7, “The Brave” has increased by +60% in 18-49 and +3.2 million viewers overall (5.3 million to 8.5 million). With the addition of projected non-linear ratings, the L+7 figure grows to a 1.96 in 18-49.

“Dean Georgaris and our executive producers and cast have created a compelling drama, with top-notch production values, that have captured the intense pressure facing our military personnel in the field and the analysts back home in their unrelenting fight to protect our freedom,” said Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment. “We couldn’t be prouder of the work they all do.”

A decision on a second season will be made at a later date.

“GOOD GIRLS”
When three suburban moms get tired of trying to make ends meet, they decide it’s time to stick up for themselves by robbing the local grocery store. But when the manager catches a glimpse of one of them and the loot is far more than they expected, it doesn’t take long for the three best friends to realize the perfect getaway will be harder than they think. From executive producer Jenna Bans (“Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal,” “The Family”) comes this comedy-infused drama that mixes a little “Thelma & Louise” with a bit of “Breaking Bad.”

The cast includes Christina Hendricks (“Mad Men,” “Another Period”), Retta (“Parks and Recreation,” “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce”), Mae Whitman (“Parenthood,” “Arrested Development”), Reno Wilson (“Mike & Molly”), Manny Montana (“Graceland”), Lidya Jewett (“Hidden Figures”), Izzy Stannard (“Brad’s Status”), and Matthew Lillard (“Twin Peaks,” “Bosch”).

Jenna Bans will write and executive produce. Dean Parisot (“Galaxy Quest,” “Masters of Sex,” “Justified,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm”) directs and executive produces. Jeannine Renshaw (“Grey’s Anatomy,” “Ghost Whisperer,” “The Family”) also executive produces.

“RISE”
From Jason Katims, writer and executive producer of “Friday Night Lights” and “Parenthood,” and “Hamilton” producer Jeffrey Seller comes a heartening new drama about finding inspiration in unexpected places. When dedicated teacher and family man Lou Mazzuchelli (Josh Radnor) sheds his own self-doubt and takes over the school’s lackluster theater department, he galvanizes not only the faculty and students but the entire working-class town. Inspired by a true story.

The cast includes Josh Radnor, Marley Shelton, Rarmian Newton, Auli’i Cravalho, Damon J. Gillespie, Ted Sutherland, Amy Forsyth, Casey Johnson, Taylor Richardson, Joseph Tippett, Shirley Rumierk and Rosie Perez.

Grassroots tournament series will have nine U.S. metro stops in first year tour

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN / November 16, 2017 SportsEngine Inc., the leading youth sports technology provider, announced today a partnership with Prep Hoops, a national grassroots basketball media and event company, to present the inaugural Prep Hoops Series powered by SportsEngine, a youth basketball tournament series that will travel to nine U.S. cities in the spring and summer of 2018.

SportsEngine, a division of NBC Sports Group, is trusted by over 750,000 sports teams to run their websites, tournaments, leagues, online registration and mobile apps. With the inception of the Prep Hoops Series, all participating teams will have the option to get a free SportsEngine-hosted and designed website for their organization that will allow access to schedules, rosters and team stats throughout the year. In addition, SportsEngine’s owned basketball media properties, D1 Circuit and Prep Circuit, along with Prep Hoops contributors will garner maximum exposure for teams and individual athletes.

Prep Hoops’ presence in the grassroots basketball industry comes with a reputation of executing successful tournaments and events around the country for college hopefuls, in addition to publicizing the teams and athletes involved. This new tournament series alone will gain the attention of over 100 national scouts in search of stock risers, under the radar prospects and breakout teams at all levels of competition and recruitment.

The Prep Hoops Series will take place April-July 2018 and will touch down at nine different metro locations across the United States, eventually culminating with a national championship in Knoxville, Tennessee. Each event will feature tournament play for age level 13U-17U.
