STAMFORD, Conn. – Nov. 8, 2018 – NBC Sports Group has reached an agreement with The Stronach Group for exclusive United States media rights to the third annual running of the Pegasus World Cup Invitational on January 26, 2019 from The Stronach Group’s Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida. Among the entries for the 2019 running of the Pegasus World Cup Invitational is 2018 Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Accelerate.

Building on the success of 2017 and 2018, The Stronach Group has expanded the 2019 event for both horse owners and fans by turning the $16 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational into a championship series. The Pegasus World Cup Championship Invitational Series will include the $9 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1), to be contested on the dirt at 1 1/8 miles offering $4 million for the winner of the 12-horse field and the $7 million Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational (G1), to be run on the turf at 1 3/16 mile. The Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational will replace the Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap and aims to attract and showcase 12 of the best turf horses from around the world as they compete for a $3 million first place prize.

NBC will air a live 90-minute program featuring both the Pegasus World Cup Invitational and the Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational. The broadcast will also showcase the Pegasus “blue” carpet, celebrity and live entertainment event elements from Gulfstream Park at 4:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, January 26, 2019. All coverage will be streamed live on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs.

STAMFORD, Conn.Nov. 7, 2018Carson Wentz and the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles host Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys in a pivotal NFC East showdown on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. Coverage begins with Football Night in America at 7 p.m. ET on NBC, followed by a new, earlier SNF kickoff time of 8:20 p.m. ET, from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pa.

This weekend’s game marks the 10th consecutive season that the two franchises have faced each other on NBC’s Sunday Night Football – the longest streak for any matchup on the broadcast primetime package in NFL history (ABC – 1970-2005; NBC – 2006-Present). Overall, the Cowboys and Eagles will meet for the 12th time on NBC’s SNF, tying with Giants-Cowboys (Sept. 16) for the most-played matchup in NBC SNF history (since 2006).

Calling Cowboys-Eagles is Al Michaels (play-by-play), in his record 33rd season as the voice of the NFL’s premier primetime package; 16-time Emmy Award-winner Cris Collinsworth; and two-time Emmy Award-winning sideline reporter Michele Tafoya. This marks the 10th season that Michaels and Collinsworth will serve as the announce team in the NBC broadcast booth. In addition, three-time Super Bowl referee and SNF’s new rules analyst Terry McAulay will join Michaels and Collinsworth in the booth.

The Cowboys look to rebound from a 28-14 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Monday night. Wide receiver Amari Cooper, who the Cowboys acquired last week via a trade with the Oakland Raiders, caught five passes for 58 yards and one touchdown in his debut with Dallas. In his past five games against NFC East opponents, Prescott has thrown eight touchdowns and 0 interceptions.

The Eagles return to the field for the first time since Week 8, when they defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. Wentz has thrown for 1,533 yards, 12 touchdowns and one interception in his past five games. Golden Tate, a 1,000-yard receiver in three of the last four seasons, makes his Eagles debut on Sunday after an Oct. 30 trade from the Detroit Lions.

Mike Tirico will host Football Night in America at 7 p.m. ET on NBC alongside Hall of Fame coach Tony Dungy, two-time Super Bowl winner Rodney Harrison, and NFL insider Mike Florio from NBC Sports’ International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Conn. Liam McHugh will co-host Football Night in America on-site from Lincoln Financial Field.

SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL BUS RETURNS FOR 2018 NFL SEASON

NBC Sports Group’s Sunday Night Football bus returns this season to travel the country, visiting the host cities of select Sunday Night Football games. The bus will bring the Vince Lombardi Trophy to various SNF locations, before arriving at its final destination in Week 17.

Fans will get a closer look at the behind-the-scenes action of SNF broadcasts on the bus, which will take fans from the field, to the studio and in the production trucks. Features of the bus include an interactive replica of the control room, an interactive player wall, a Carrie Underwood music experience, a replica of the Football Night in America desk, an area showcasing SNF’s new initiative with the Boys & Girls Clubs and more.

The bus will arrive in each city two to three days prior to the game, making stops at local landmarks and events before heading to the game site. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING: Flexible scheduling will be used in Weeks 11-17. Additionally, in Weeks 5-10, flexible scheduling may be used in no more than two weeks. In Weeks 5-16, the schedule lists the games tentatively set for Sunday Night Football on NBC. Only Sunday afternoon games are eligible to be moved to Sunday night, in which case the tentatively scheduled Sunday night game would be moved to an afternoon start time. Flexible scheduling will not be applied to games airing on Thursday or Monday nights.

A flexible scheduling move would be announced at least 12 days before the game. For Week 17, the Sunday night game will be announced no later than six days prior to December 30. The schedule does not list a Sunday night game in Week 17, but an afternoon game with playoff implications will be moved to that time slot. Flexible scheduling ensures quality matchups in all Sunday time slots in those weeks and gives “surprise” teams a chance to play their way into prime time.

STAMFORD, Conn. – November 6, 2018 – “I’ll watch that,” said basketball legend Michael Jordan in NBC Sports’ spot promoting Aaron Rodgers and the Packers against Tom Brady and the Patriots on NBC Sunday Night Football this past weekend. Jordan wasn’t the only one, as New England’s 31-17 victory over Green Bay delivered a huge audience and boosted NBC Sunday Night Football to its highest midseason viewership in three years.

At the midway point of the NFL season, NBC Sunday Night Football, primetime TV’s #1 show for a history-making seven consecutive years, once again tops primetime television and is averaging a Total Audience Delivery of 19.7 million viewers – up 8% from last year at this point (18.3 million) and pacing for SNF’s best season since the record-setting 2015.

This past Sunday night, Packers-Patriots on NBC registered a Total Audience Delivery average of 24.1 million viewers – ranking as the most-watched Week 9 game in the 13-year history of SNF on NBC, and a 66% jump from last year’s Week 9 game (Raiders-Dolphins, 14.5 million), according to official national live + same day data released by Nielsen, and digital data from Adobe Analytics.

“With legendary matchups like Rodgers vs. Brady, exciting new players, high-scoring offenses, and compelling games, the NFL continues to deliver content and audiences unmatched by any property, year after year,” said Mark Lazarus, Chairman of NBC Broadcasting and Sports. “We’re looking forward to the second half of our schedule, which features many crucial divisional matchups, the Thanksgiving night game, plus the Week 17 flex game. We expect SNF to finish atop the primetime rankings yet again.”

Additional NBC Sunday Night Football metrics:

  • With an average of 23.7 million NBC-TV viewers for Packers-Patriots, this past weekend’s SNF game delivered the largest primetime audience on any network since the Academy Awards in March and the most-watched NFL telecast on any network this season.
  • NBC Sunday Night Football accounts for the only primetime shows (four games) on any network this fall to reach the 20 million viewer mark.
  • Seven of the past eight NBC SNF games have delivered larger audiences than the comparable game in 2017, with Sunday’s game ranking as the most-watched NFL primetime game on any network since Week 1 of 2017 (Giants-Cowboys on SNF).
  • Football Night in America, the most-watched weekly studio show in sports, delivered 8.7 million viewers on Sunday night — the best Week 9 delivery for FNIA since 2015 and up 17% from last year. For the season, FNIA is averaging 7.2 million viewers – up 5% from the comparable 7:30-8:15 p.m. ET time window through last year at this point.
  • The Average Minute Audience (AMA) for Sunday night’s live stream via NBC Sports Digital and NFL Digital platforms was 400,000 viewers – more than tripling last year’s Week 9 game (125,000 for Raiders-Dolphins). Fans consumed a record 85.3 million live streaming minutes across 1.8 million unique devices, up 207% and 213%, respectively, from last year’s Week 9 game. For the season, NBC Sports Digital’s AMA of 356,000 viewers is up 81% from last year through Week 9 (197,000).
  • Sunday’s game (8:24 p.m.-11:25 p.m. ET) registered a national TV household rating of 13.7/25.

On Monday, the NFL announced that the Nov. 18 game between the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings — the respective first- and second-place teams in the NFC North – has been flexed into primetime on Sunday Night Football.
