“Atelier Liddy and Soeur” Launches in Japan This Winter

Originally announced in June, the next main game in the Atelier series is Atelier Liddy & Souer: Alchemists of the Mysterious Painting. Thanks to the latest issue of Famitsu, we finally have some more info, including plans to bring the alchemy-infused RPG to PlayStation 4, PS Vita, and Nintendo Switch in Japan this winter.

Atelier Liddy & Souer centers on twin sisters living in Merveille, the capital city of the Adarett Kingdom. Their adventure, however, will take place in a mysterious world within a painting they discover. Liddy Marlen is a calm character voiced by Maria Naganawa (Tamaki in Magic of Stella), while Souer Marlen is fully of energy and voiced by Hikaru Akao.

Other tidbits of info from Famitsu touch on improved 3D models, as well as this possibly being the conclusion of the Mysterious series, A few ideas they juggled around included entering paintings to visit past Atelier games, Blue Reflection, and other Gust titles. While that concept was ultimately rejected, they tease that there might still be something…

Those who pick up first-print copies of Atelier Liddy & Souer will get bonus costumes, including those of the leads in 1997’s Atelier Marie and 1998’s Atelier Elie.
