“Anime of the Year” Winner “Made in Abyss” Gets Two Compilation Films This Winter

The official website for the TV anime adaptation of Akihito Tsukushi’s fantasy adventure manga series Made in Abyss announced today that two compilation films based on the 13-episode first TV series, titled “Tabidachi no Yoake (Departure at the Dawn)” and “Hourousuru Tasogare (Wandering Twilight), will be released in Japan this winter.


The site previously announced the anime would get its sequel back in November 2017. It is also confirmed today that production of a new episode (or multiple episodes) has been in progress.   



Posters for the films are now dispalyed at Rinkai Line’s Kokusai-tenjijo Station, the nearest station to

Tokyo Big Sight, where the Anime Japan 2018 event will be held this weekend.

The Kinema Citrus-produced anime was aired for 13 episodes from July to September 2017, then won Anime

of the Year at the 2017 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.
