Amazon U.K. Starts Accepting Pre-orders for “Your Name.” DVD/Blu-ray for October 30, 2017 Release

It has been confirmed that Amazon U.K. has started accepting pre-orders for the DVD and Blu-ray of Makoto Shinkai’s anime film Kimi no Na wa./Your Name. for an October 30, 2017 release.

 

The youth sci-fil film has been screened in the region since November 18. Its U.K. distributor Anime Limited has posted an FAQ about the release on its website, saying “The date in the listings highlights October 2017. This is due to holdbacks in Japan as part of the terms of our licensing agreement. However, we want to stress now that we do not anticipate this to be available before October 2017 and it could even be potentially later than that.”

Meanwhile, Toho, the film’s distributor in Japan, has posted two new CMs to celbrate that the film has earnred

over 20 billion yen from the 15 million ticket sales at the Japanese box office. Now it has become the second

top-grossing Japanese film in history, only behind Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away (2001).
